As “studium integrale”, contextual studies place core studies within intellectual and cultural contexts and introduce students to the academic environment. Contextual studies are divided into three subjects:
- As part of the compulsory curriculum, courses regarding Skills introduce students to academic writing, and engages them in interdisciplinary thinking within the Integration Project.
- In Cultural and Social Sciences students select from humanities and social sciences courses in the areas of History, Sociology, Philosophy and Psychology. These provide insights to mindsets, value systems and ways of understanding, using specific examples.
- The area of Foreign Language encourage students to learn new languages. Students have to choose one foreign language from a list of different foreign language courses.
